I’d be most grateful to you if you would be kind enough to convey to the next parish council meeting my sincere and humbling appreciation for the way in which the entire community responded on Sunday to the fire at The Sarn.
Not only did we receive numerous calls sharing expressions of devastation and sympathy for us, but only now have I heard the way in which the people of the village provided support to the hard working fire crews who attended the scene.
Whilst I have said for so long that our family is blessed to have such incredible neighbours here, I have been truly touched by the support we have been offered.
Steps are afoot to secure the and protect the building and very much hope that rebuilding work can commence without undue delay, being mindful of the additional requirements of repairing a listed property.
We can only apologise now in advance of the understandable inconvenience which the building’s recovery process will entail, all the more so as we will not be here to share the daily disruption which such work will no doubt entail.
I will keep you posted with progress reports as and when key events occur in the restoration process in order that the village can be kept informed of how the process is moving along, especially during the early weeks while nothing much appears to be happening at the house.
With kindest regards
