Minutes

With the provision that the word ‘approximately’ replace the symbol ‘~’, the minutes of the meeting held on 27th February 2017 were agreed by all and signed by the Chair, John Williams.

Matters arising

  • Veronica was unable to discuss enlargement of the notice board with Ted Laidlar, but will do so shortly.
  • John rang John Megitt, but was unable to reach him. He will retry.
  • Veronica read aloud a letter from Phillip Dunne in response to her letter on NHS closures. The letter will be put onto the website and the Facebook page.
  • A music evening has been arranged by the church committee to raise funds for the defibrillator.

Elections

  • John Williams was confirmed as Chair.

Correspondence

  • None.

AOB

  • The NHS closures appear to be on hold as no formal proposals have yet been made and no consultations have been held. When a timetable for these events has been arranged, the Parish Meeting will hold an extraordinary residents’ meeting to discuss the situation. Jon will put details of the decision-making process on the website/Facebook page, as many Parishioners lack knowledge of this.
  • Jon will co-ordinate the organisation of a meeting for the residents of Hopton Castle, Bedstone and Hopton Heath about getting a defibrillator. This will be held in late June (20-22).
  • Potholes in Bedstone Lane are deep and John will alert Highways.
